Don’t we all want to live a beautiful life?
It was 5am on a cold Saturday morning. The sun was slowly making its presence felt as Joey drove up in his battered old sedan. He got out of the car and stretched out, feeling the creaks in his back and the burn of disturbed sleep in his eyes.
He lit another cigarette and faced the old white, graffiti tagged, roller door. It was not a pretty sight and it made him suck the cigarette harder; his third for the early, early morning.
Soon he would have to start; roll that door up, switch on the lights, start the cookers and get ready for the customers.
Soon he’d have to go into robot mode.
Joey sucked his cigarette hard, cursed the wild birds for their free song, and turned off all hope.
It was time for work.
The Beautiful Life
Well my friends, that was how it used to be … not at all the beautiful life.
Now don’t get me wrong, your humble narrator had his kicks living that ‘carefree’ lifestyle of the robot at work, party animal at play. However, I was not living the dream.
There was a problem. The problem was I wasn’t free.
Do you ever feel that way? Feel like life is dragging you kicking and screaming down the garden path to throw you in the pool and force you to tread water.
Maybe not? Maybe it was just me.
Anyway, I knew there was a problem.
I wanted a taste of the beautiful life that I saw other people had. I saw people living fine and fancy free, floating around the world and having a blast.
Why was I working tough for minimum wage, smelling like a chip fryer and taking orders from customers?
Well my friends, I decided enough was enough. I wanted my slice of the beautiful life.
On the way to the beautiful life
Now, I’m not going to give you one of those dodgy marketing sales. Here you shall find no beautiful models in bikinis, lounging on my rented super yacht, and me saying how I went from 0 to million dollar hero over night.
Sorry to say, I’m not there yet, and I’m not going to sell you some BS image to drive traffic and pick up some ad revenue.
No, I’m here to show you that I went from a robot serving people who didn’t care about me, well most didn’t care, up the ladder to being 1/4 of the way to financially free. So, still a long way to go. And still serving people, but at least now I know most of them care.
So, I’m still fighting my way to paradise city — you know the beautiful life.
I mean, that’s what we all want, isn’t it? We want to enjoy the beautiful life, with beautiful people, in a beautiful place, where we feel beautiful, happy and free.
Well, that’s the life I want. Free, inspired, impassioned, doing my thing and feeling so damn pretty.
Do you feel it?
So, I’m not there yet, but I’m on the way:
- I’m on the way to financially free, but still at the job stage. However, I’ve worked hard and elevated to the rewarding job. It’s still a job, but it allows me to find passion and dream big future plans. How do you feel about your job? Seriously comment below, I really want to know.
- From the great job I’m saving and investing. Which doesn’t sound so rock and roll, but it definitely makes me feel strong when I don’t have to worry about money. Worse comes to worse I have a small pile of gold that’s growing and growing. Ask yourself, how do you feel about your financial situation?
- Side hustle — I’m rocking the writing and the deeper I go, the more real it gets. I’m nowhere near ready to make it the real business or the full time hustle, but I see the path ahead and I’m making it work.
- Health, wealth and wisdom — I’m feeling more and more attractive everyday. Even with the receding hairline, the glasses and the loose skin from losing 40KG; feeling like I can attract a beautiful life full of goodness.
Where am I going?
I’m going all the way to paradise city — I invite you to follow along. It won’t be easy, it will take the principles of success:
It will take you making the decision to make your life the way you really want it to be. It will take you casting the vision, believing in it and leading yourself towards that life. It will also take the hard work of finding the path, walking it and pushing past the obstacles.
But hey, it’s your life. You only get one of these. How do you want to feel in 50 years time? Well that’s what does it for me. I think back to the future. To the time when I have no more chances of rolling the dice and making grand plans. I really do not want to tell myself, ‘hey you could have done better’.
So, I’m going for it; for that big slice of the beautiful life.
I may fail, or fall short, but I’ll go down happy knowing I was swinging for a home run and trying to get there.
I hope my friends, that you live with such fire and determination.
