Learn the exciting lessons that helped make Jesse Itzler a million-dollar creative entrepreneur.
It was 3 O’clock on Sunday afternoon, I was feeling bored and feeling a little uninspired with life, when I clicked on YouTube. Now thanks to my new habit of quitting TV and switching to listening to YouTube influencers, I now have a whole screen full of valuable lessons from inspired minds of the world.
And then I see him, this strange hippie looking guy on Impact Theory.
And my first thought was, if this jeans and tee-shirt relaxed dude is some kind of high flying super star of success, then maybe a chilled out Average Joe like me has a chance.
So, having no idea of who Jesse Itzler is, I tuned in to find out.
Long story short – He’s a Creative Entrepreneur:
This chilled out looking dude is not average. And while he does seem pretty down to Earth, he does a couple of things very well. He’s not the biggest brain in the world, he’s probably not the most popular and he’s not the strongest, but he’s super powers are things that can make you a fortune.
Unfortunately, I need to work at most of them.
The super powers of Jesse Itzler, the Creative Entrepreneur is, he’s creative.
So, who is Jesse Itzler
“Jesse Eric Itzler is an entrepreneur, author, and rapper. He is the co-founder of Marquis Jet, one of the largest private jet card companies in the world, a partner in Zico Coconut Water, the founder of The 100 Mile Group and an owner of the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks.”https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesse_Itzler
So, he’s an entrepreneur. And he’s not really in any field. He’s been involved in the music industry, as a rapper, and then in sports, first creating music for sports teams, then he got into health water, jet travel and then even owned a basketball team.
If that doesn’t sound like an awesome career – ‘I was a rapper, then I got into sports as an entrepreneur and now I own my own favourite sport club’ – then I don’t know what does.
So how did he do it?
1. He did it with creativity
Jesse Itzer is a creative person. He started his whole journey as a rapper and much of his success came from creating music. And so it’s pretty clear that his ability to be creative has been a huge part of his success. However, there are many creative types out there, us writers for one, who are very creative and don’t have half of his success. We are all creative, and I believe everyone can be creative, but how do you make it pay.
The secret I gleamed from this interview, was to be creative.
How to be a creative Entrepreneur
Itzer tells the host, quite honestly, that he never knew how he was going to make it all work out to a massive successful journey, but he does give a special clue. He says, he imagines things like a movie, and he likes to start with the end of the movie. He sees where he wants it to end, then fills in the script backwards as you go.
Being creative, like writing a movie script. I like it!
So if you dream of being a big successful writer -you have to envision what that looks like. Is it travelling around the world cracking the big case and getting world wide recognition. Or is it rolling in the limo to your latest big book signing. Or whatever.
You see what you want to be like, then you work out how you get to the point just before that, then just before that, then … well you get it.
Creatively imagine your life.
2. Networking Like a Creative Entrepreneur
We all know networking is the key to success. It really is not what you know, it’s who you know. And from reading on the internet I can’t tell how many times I’ve read really awesome stuff and thought, if that girl knew Oprah, she could totally go global.
Often that’s all it takes. Now, I’m not saying those on her booklist, superstars list aren’t talented – of course they are. I just see there’s not a massive difference from the celebrity superstars and many of the passionate strugglers – other than networks – connections.
Itzler seems to understand this. From the interview and his story, you see he didn’t do any of his great deads on his own. He needed others to make them happen. And he’s quite honest that in the beginning he didn’t have fine friends to spread the world about his great ideas.
So he found a way -and it took creativity.
He tells the story of how he needed to get a foot in the door with rich people. He had a product he wanted to sell, and the audience was rich people. Well, he didn’t know any rich people. So, he decided to go where rich people hang out. He found a conference for some business event and he sat there and he watched. He had no idea how he was going to get in with this crowd. But then he had the strike of lightning. He saw, every break, these rich people would come out and buy a coffee and a muffin. So what did he do? He bought all the muffins and when one of these rich people asked, and they told them there were none left, guess who jumped up to say, ‘hey would you like a muffin? … great, I’m Jesse. How you doing?”
And that’s a genius way to creatively get the foot in the door.
I’m starting to wonder how I could use it to disrupt my industry.
So many more creative ideas

Sooner or later you’ll have a breakthrough and you will have that moment you need to get what you want.
