How Exercise can Improve your Life
Feeling pumped and ready for action is the best state we can get.
And when we are in a peak, pumped state we can move mountains. We can face challenges undaunted. We can attack problems and dare to risk great solutions. We have the energy to think big, to move people, to dream massive and take on the world.
Energy, momentum, excitement, passion, can all flow from a pumped state. What’s more when you are feeling this way, you will love your body and love your life. And in that state, you can make the world a better place and lead your people to a better plane of living.
Personally, I just started again.
I started this year with the goal of getting really fit – I want to be a beast. But most importantly I want to strengthen my core so that I can keep control of my body and feel good over what I’m hoping is a long life. I don’t ever want to be in the position of feeling like I’m falling apart.
I’ve been there, and the fear of living like that has driven me to ensure I get fit, strong and physically tight.
It all happened when I slipped a disk in my back. Well, I’ve actually done it twice and I went limp like a piece of soggy bread. I was unable to stand straight and confined to a bed.
I tried to get up and blinding, unendurable pain stabbed through my lower back, threatening to leave me twisted. Just now the thought of it makes me shudder and tighten up my poster.
So, having slipped my back and feeling like every movement would crush my nerve and leave me a lifelong opioid user, I decided I needed to tighten up my body and keep it all in good shape.
The only answer to stop this ever happening again is to get tight and tough through the core.
So I started.
How to Start to Improve your life Through Exercise
I started so simply by YouTubing how to build strength.
[A place I found to start, was here at Warrior Made. They guide you through simple activities that you can do at home. And they’re easy enough for even me to make a start.]
I started with one round of squats, lunges, push-ups, and a plank. (This was after a year of slowly building up from barely walking, to swimming slowly, to long walks, to jogging, and back to minor aches and pains.)
And I hated every second of it.
Don’t get me wrong, the pump is amazing, but the straining and forcing, to begin with, sucks. And don’t get me started with crunches.
But I knew I needed to get tight. I need to stay strong. I don’t want to grow old shuffling around, complaining ‘my back’, ‘my back’. No that’s not me.
Push Through to a Stronger You
So I pushed through. Slowly and safely to begin. And I built up, one step at a time.
And then the power kicked in. I got the surge. I felt pumped.
I felt my body strengthen up and I was able to move more naturally.
And I was able to push it a bit harder in the gym.
Blood rushed through my body and I felt alive.
Then one day of pump became two days, and three days, and even on the rest days, I was sucking in that gut – the one that pulls down on my back and threatens to hurt me again.
And then I decided I wanted to feel even better, so I smashed down fruit and veg like it was going out of fashion.
Then the YouTube offered up stomach tightening, cardio, and all sorts of advice.
It then brought me back back to boxing.
And right then I was up to 50 push-ups a day, and 100 squats and lunges and all that stuff.
I was feeling my chest stand up and my stomach pull in. My legs were holding me proud and I could run with conviction.
My lungs felt deeper, my heart more powerful, my body stronger and hotter and even powerful.
The Advantage of Improving Yourself
And with that good energy I turned to the problems of my days.
Work -too easy. Writing – let’s get excited. Money – I live in abundance. Problems – what problems, I got no problems, I’m strong and smart and capable of anything.
Needless to say, the burst of good energy, health and vitality brought on by steady, sound exercising has helped me to become more positive and a lot more confident in all areas of my life.
I absolutely recommend it.
A total MUST!
