Do you wake up feeling great every day?
Do you spend most of your time living in a peak state and feeling in charge of your life?
Are you feeling like life is a wonderful journey, where you get to be a creator and live a life of fulfillment and pleasure?
I hope so! I truly do.
I’m starting to live that life now, but for many years my life sucked.
And my guess is there are a lot of people out there who are not feeling great. They are feeling the way I used to feel. They’re feeling stressed. Or their feeling weak, or ineffective, powerless, hopeless, directionless. Or even just ‘blah’ – neither good nor bad, just like ‘what’s the point?’
Do you feel like that?
If you feel like you need a little more, to say you are living a life you enjoy and you feel great, then ask these 4 simple questions.
- What do I need to escape?
- What do I really want?
- What action will I take to get it?
- What am I going to do today to get that little bit better than yesterday?
Start asking these questions on a regular basis. When you start to find the answers and apply them to your life, you will start to feel great and start to get the life you really want.
How to Start to Feel Great
I used to live life in a low state. I felt like God was against me and I could never get anything or have what I wanted. I felt like a big loser.
I had no direction and I felt worthless, ugly and pretty much depressed. I was working as a checkout assistant at a supermarket. My body was a disgrace and at one point I weighed in at 126 kg. I excessively drank and smoked and ate to try and numb myself.
But that all changed.
I lost 40 kilos. I went to uni and got first class honors. I’m now a teacher living as an expat in a fun, exotic and interesting country. I went from feeling ugly, ‘no one will ever love me’, to now being married, with a beautiful child, and knowing absolutely that people cherish me.
And I went from broke, scrounging around for dollars to buy a pack of cigarettes, to having more money than I need and right now considering what piece of land we might like to invest in.
That’s me. That is the journey I went on to feel like an empowered and impassioned human being.
What do you feel?
Now I said I hoped you felt life was a wonderful journey, but given the epidemic of stress in the world and all the other problems I see, like obesity, drug addiction and so on, I’m a little pessimistic.
Regardless, if you’ve read this far you probably want to know what turned it all around. And if you are in a similar position, feeling worthless and having little control over life, this is the answer that worked for me and it can work for you.
The answer in short was positivity. Now I know you’ve probably heard this all before. So I’m going to be brief.

A Way to Feel Great
1&2 What do I want to escape? and What do I want?
When I started to turn it all around I got very serious about the life I wanted.
I got to the point where enough was enough – I was not going to continue to feel like a failure. I was beyond sick of feeling like an ugly, fat blob.
That anger forced me to ask what do I want? And I wanted a life of success. I wanted wealth and happiness. I wanted a body to be proud of. I wanted to own my own house and feel rich.
And from there I was pushed by this anger. I didn’t want what I had. I was beyond sick of feeling “blah”. I wanted the excitement and joy I saw in the faces of the wealthy, healthy, attractive, happy people I saw.
3&4 What actions are you going to take? and How are you going to get better?
And then I took action. I told myself it was time to get what I want. I told myself we don’t have to change the world in a day. We just need to start and get better every single day. And we started. I started walking. I started saving. I started hating the cigarettes. I started reading.
I started and got better. I had bad days and failed. Then the next day it was easy to be better than the day before. So I started again and I kept going, until I failed again and I had to start again.
And now I’m here.
Now I Feel Great
I just woke up. 5am, I got straight up, no snooze, no negotiations with sleep.
I drank my big glass of water and felt it revive my body.
I did my morning stretch/yoga routine to loosen up my body.
I did my planking and push up challenge for the morning – sadly I’m at 10 push-ups/set and 1 minute planking. It used to be much higher, but again I failed and I’m starting again. But the body feels good.
And now I’m writing this quick little reminder that life is awesome and I’m about to have a healthy breakfast before I get into my serious study of our latest investment and plan my serious topics to write about for my hobby/ part-time, hopefully one day will become my career, blogging, book writing activities.
And this is all on a Monday morning, in the middle of my school holiday, in sunny Saigon.

To Feel Great Ask:
- What do you hate? What is going wrong in your life? What do you want to escape? What do you want to improve?
- What is the life you really want? What do you envy in the life of others? What would make you feel good about life?
- Really know why you want it. What must you escape or change? What must you have to feel like life is worthwhile?
- What action can you start today to get you moving towards your goal? What is one little thing that makes today better than yesterday?
- Do those little things. Just make a start. Even if it’s a five minute walk, one push up, put 1 dollar in the piggy bank, read one article online about making money … just do one little thing.
- Every day ask yourself: What little thing can I do today to get towards my long term goal? How can you make today better than yesterday?
Start there and one day you will be at a position when you know everything you need to know about yourself and how you get the life you once only ever dreamed about.
