How to reclaim Monday and Achieve Success

Do you hate Monday? I hate Monday! I know I should be the inspired leader who says it’s all in your head, take back the power and be positive. But the truth is I hate Monday.

Monday is the death of freedom and getting back to work.

So how do we deal with it.

My success lessons tell me, use the hate and get stronger.

So, why do we hate Monday?

Because we want to be free!

How do we get free?

How to Reclaim Monday and Achieve Success

1. Remember your mission on Monday

My mission is to be financially free.

I believe I can become ‘free’ by investing and by transitioning into my dream job. i.e. I can invest my way to a passive income and in time I will be able to move away from teaching and become a ‘professional’ writer.

Beyond that, I envision a great and bright beautiful life of my dreams built on those plans.

What is your mission? You should know!

You should imagine it and envision it to the point where you can almost see it, hear and taste it.

Keep that vision in mind and start the week looking to take another step in the right direction.

2. Set Plans on Monday

Ask yourself, what can I achieve this week while I have to work?

With that in mind – you can start the week by making plans and setting goals.

You should even consider doing this on Sunday, before you’re ‘stuck in it’ and reacting to what Monday throws at you.

To that end, I will start a blast session looking at my goals and my plans every Sunday afternoon.

I will set out what are the things I can achieve this week and set about forcing myself to follow through.

Tune in next Sunday for my blast session on planning and goal setting.

3. Prime Yourself for a Good Monday

I wake up with my clear vision of my success mission in mind, then I prime for a good day.

Every morning, we need to prime ourselves so that we have a good day.

If we simply hope to wake up and go out into the world and win, we are leaving too much up to chance.

However, by priming our mind and preparing our body, we get set and are more able to take the right state of mind out into the day. That state of mind can change everything.

I start the day by stretching and consciously going through a list of all the things I am grateful for. I find three things I’m truly grateful for, then I envision the people and things I love and ask for blessings for them. I finish by envisioning the future life I really want and try to experience it as if I have it already.

This doesn’t take long. However, this little ritual helps me to stay focussed and helps me to feel good.

Success Affirmations

Lastly, I think of an affirmation for success, such as ‘I’m getting stronger and better everyday and soon I’ll achieve my dream life’.

Something simple like this keeps me on track and keeps my mind positive and ready to have a great, successful day.

4. Success Habits for Monday

Remember the good habits. Here is Covey’s list of habits that I’ve covered before.

  1. Be Proactive
  2. Begin with the End in Mind
  3. Put First Things First
  4. Think Win-Win
  5. Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood
  6. Synergize
  7. Sharpen the Saw

Without going into all of the habits, my easy way to address most of them is to ensure I, eat healthy, exercise, foster good relationships, read something intelligent, watch something inspirational, write a bit of my novel or a post, make my wife laugh, listen to my favourite music and play with my son.

If I do all these things as daily habits, I know I’m getting stronger and better.

5. End Your Monday Right

Finish what you started.

It’s nice to get to the end of the day and check the box to say I completed everything.

I know that’s not always possible. So, I at least hope to finish the day knowing I’ve done all that I could do.

And if not, I at least tell myself I’m leaving a little so tomorrow will be better than today.

The very last thing I do, is to run through my nightly gratitude.

Once again, I’m grateful for all the wonderful things I have. I pray for blessings for those I love. And I am grateful for the wonderful life I have coming my way.

And now go to sleep happy.
